Terms of Use

Updated September 17, 2026

BackcountryPlanner is a trip-provisioning tool operated by Work With ACRE LLC. It helps you organize food, gear, and packing lists. By using it, you agree to these terms.

A planning tool, not safety advice

The planner does not provide medical, nutrition, navigation, weather, or backcountry safety advice. Calculations, suggested items, conditions summaries, and readiness labels are planning aids—not a guarantee that a trip, diet, or load is safe or suitable for you.

Check food labels, equipment specifications, current conditions, access rules, and your own needs independently. A completed checklist does not replace experience, appropriate preparation, or qualified advice.

Your account and content

Use your own Google account and keep it secure. You retain your rights to the information you enter and allow us to store and process it to provide the planner. You are responsible for checking entered and imported information and for having permission to use it.

Product lookups contribute product facts and source URLs to a shared catalog. Do not submit confidential or personalized links. See the Privacy Policy for data handling and deletion details.

Responsible use

Do not access another person’s profile without authorization, bypass usage controls, disrupt the service, or use it unlawfully. Automated or excessive requests may be limited. Access may be suspended for misuse.

Availability and backups

The planner is currently free to use. It is provided as available and may change or be interrupted. Keep a separate copy of information needed for your trip. Do not rely on an internet connection or the service being available in the backcountry.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, we do not promise that the service or imported information will be uninterrupted, error-free, or suitable for a particular purpose. Nothing in these terms removes rights or protections that applicable law does not allow us to exclude.

Leaving the service

You can export your plans and request profile deletion in Profile settings. Deletion revokes access when accepted; storage cleanup may remain pending after that. Deleting your planner profile does not delete your Google account.
